Audio/Visual Case Study
RYA – Olympic Venue – Portland, Dorset
”RYA Portland House, provides a real buzz of excitement ….” – HRH the Princess Royal
Dorset will be hosting the sailing events for the 2012 London Olympics. And this is just one of many events taking place at Portland (including “Sailing For Gold”), so MVS were very proud when Skandia TeamGBR asked us to design and install the T.V. and Audio-Visual systems for their purpose built accommodation and training facilities.

Every room is designed to accommodate the needs of an Olympic athlete and MVS’ T.V. system provides live Television and much more besides.
Each Panasonic 26inch LCD TV is securely fitted to a swivel & tilt bracket enabling easy adjustment.
In addition to FREEVIEW channels using the Tuner, each room also has outlets for connection to the Satellite dish and input connections for Laptop PC, MP3 iPods, DVD and Video players.
There are also four dedicated channels that are used for training videos, links to the entrance screen in the foyer and to the fixed camera in the conference centre (see our photo, showing a Guest Speaker being broadcast live to the TV in one of the athlete’s rooms).
The entrance foyer is fitted with a OneLan system that displays regularly updated information to each visitor.

Several screen layout templates have been designed by OneMedia (a service offered by OneLan) to suit the needs of the various squads that are in attendance. The clean crisp graphics are in keeping with the graphic design throughout Skandia TeamGBR, such as the images, which adorn the walls of the gymnasium.
The ONELAN system can be viewed on any screen in the building, including all of the T.V. sets in the accommodation block.
The live news and weather feeds are clear and easy to read, giving up to the minute instant information. The ONELAN system can be viewed on any screen in the building, including all of the T.V. sets in the accommodation block.
The conference and training suite is a multipurpose flexible space, equipped with a state of the art HD A-V system, controlled by an AMX Touch Panel.
The HD projector at one end of the room, along with two Plasma-screens based on wheeled trolleys can select from a wide range of sources including Freesat and Freeview transmissions, HD DVD.
Bose ProPartner MVS has designed a multizone audio system:- equipped with radio microphones and digital sound mixing. Bose Loudspeakers are fitted to the ceiling space and also outside on the sun terrace.
